Originally bred in 2005 at Cornell University as an open-pollinated cross between Marketmore 97 and Boothby’s Blonde. A Golden Thumb Award Winner in 2011, Salt & Pepper cucumbers are a popular and productive variety of picklers among gardeners.

This fine pickling cucumber is aptly named as it features white to pale yellow/green skin with stubby black spines. The 10 cm fruits have exceptional flavour and are a unique standout in the garden. Powdery mildew and angular leaf spot resistance ensure a long season of picking picklers.

The flavour and texture have been described as sweet, creamy, mild and smooth. The petite cukes are just the right size for pickling, but may be even better eaten fresh! Add them liberally to salads, sandwiches and wraps or use them as the perfect complement to your favourite dips.
